John Duff was one of Scotland’s leading whisky entrepreneurs of the late 19th century, but not one who always enjoyed success or even good luck. He had founded the Glenlossie distillery in 1876, then participated in failed ventures to establish distilleries in South Africa and the USA, returning to Scotland to take up a job at the Bon Accord distillery in Aberdeen. In the whisky boom at the end of the century, his establishment of a new distillery by the name of Longmorn.
This bottling comes from Berry Bros & Rudd and was distilled 1971 and bottled 1999 from cask no. 4605.
