Glenrothes distillery is sometimes the subject of confusion in Scotland, as it is located a good 150 miles away from the well-known town of Glenrothes, in Fife, one of the largest towns in the country. The latter was a planned ‘new town’ built after the Second World War, meaning that the distillery (which is named after the town of Rothes in Speyside - the ‘glen’ being added presumably for more whisky-cred) predates it considerably, having been built in 1878.
Independently bottled Glenrothes from the Rare Old range from Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled 1961 and bottled in 2001.
N.B. - Please note the condition of the labels and packaging and also the fill levels of any bottle before bidding.
